In 1993, Winter Park Resort’s Competition Center hosted the iconic, inaugural mountain bike race for Colorado. The “King of the Rockies” was born.  This race route is currently the finale for our Epic Singletrack Series, which has built the largest attendance of any cross country series in Colorado over more than two decades.  Each Epic Singletrack race offers its own uniqueness while capturing authentic Colorado landscape.

With a competitive Professional Rider Purse reward, the Epic Singletrack Series currently attracts an average of 30 professional racers per event. Over the years, it has included such luminaries as Alison Dunlap, Lance Armstrong, Brian Lopes, Alison Powers, Jeremie Kobelski, Ann Trombley, Ned Overend, John Tomac, Tinker Juarez, Chris Baddick of Boulder Cycle Sports, Taylor Sheldon of Team Jelly Belly PB Maxxis, Dave Weins, Susan DeBias, Erin Huck & more.

The Epic Singletrack Series consists of six intrepid races, continuing our committed tradition of excellence as Colorado’s Mountain Bike Capital, USA®.
